It has been reported that Hajia Aisha Jumai Alhassan, a serving senator and former Attorney General/Commissioner of Justice of Taraba state and candidate of the All Progressive Congress is set to be declared the elected governor of the state following election results that gave been collated.
Hajia Alhassan is leading her main opponent, the Darius Ishaku, a former minister by a wide margin which implies that she might eventually emerge the winner as collation has been reportedly concluded as at the time of filing this report.
Hajia Alhassan would make history as the first elected governor of the federal republic of Nigeria. The closest the females had was the stint stay in office of Dame Virgy Etiaba who was in office briefly following a sham impeachment of her Principal, Governor Peter Obi who was later reinstated.
